ACB ARRESTS TEMPORARY ADMARC CLERK IN ZOMBA FOR SUBSIDY

On 16th December, 2011, the Anti-Corruption Bureau conducted a Farm Inputs Subsidy Programme monitoring exercise in Zomba. They found Daniel Solobala a Temporary Marketing Officer at Khanda ADMARC with 100 fake coupons.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau arrested Daniel Solobala. They took him to Mulunguzi Magistrate’s Court. He will be charged with one count of misuse of public office contrary to Section 25 (1) of the Corrupt Practices Act.
He was granted bail on the following conditions:
- To report to Sakata Police Unit once every week on Fridays before 5pm
- To provide two sufficient sureties approved by the court in the sum of K10,000.00 each not cash
- Not to interfere with state witnesses
- Not to leave Zomba District without the authority of the Director of ACB
The matter goes to court on 6th March, 2012 for commencement of trial.
